Article I: Group Meetings

            A regular group meeting shall be held biweekly throughout the academic year on a day and time determined by club officers.  The group will accommodate to late cancellations of speakers/facilities should they arise.  The President(s) may reschedule a meeting to another day, time, and location if it is in the best interest of the club to do so.  The President(s) may also call special meetings to accommodate the schedules of guest speakers/facilities that are being toured. 

Article II: Election of Officers

            Elections shall be held in April of each academic year.  Each officer will serve a term that lasts the duration of the school year.  The positions to be elected are two Co-Presidents, a Treasurer, and Public Relations Officer.  Club members will vote and elect all officers, as determined by majority vote.  Elections will be conducted via secret ballot and counted by the current president.

Article III: Officer Duties


Co-Presidents

  • Serves as chief executive officers of the group
  • Official representatives of the group and official hosts
  • Responsible for coordinating and organizing club meetings
  • Responsible for booking all guest speakers and tours throughout the year
  • Coordinates with the club advisor on all necessary matters
  • Supervises the election process
  • Annually updates these bylaws as needed
  • Responsible for the performance of all club officers
  • Maintains the club website including updates, sending and receiving correspondences, and reminding members of upcoming meetings/events
  • Follows and enforces these bylaws
  • Assists each other in planning meetings

Treasurer/Secretary

  • Withdraws/deposits all accounts from the club’s general fund
  • Updates officers on account status at each meeting
  • Makes sure club account is up to date on all forms/procedures with the school
  • Responsible for making sure ACHE is on the revenue sharing ballot each year

Co-Public Relations

  • Responsible for planning and implementing at least one fundraising event each school year
  • Responsible for visiting classrooms and informing club members about future meetings
  • Creates posters, flyers, and notes informing club members about future meetings
  • Responsible for updating the website

Special Clauses:

  • In addition to these officer descriptions, all officers will perform other duties as assigned by the Presidents or Advisor should they arise
  • The Club Advisor has final authority over all procedures and practices of the club officers.  He may choose to disregard these bylaws if it is in the best interest of the club, and may remove any officer at any time for poor performance. 
  • The money in the ACHE account will be spent at the discretion of club officers, as determined by a majority vote.  In the case of a tie, the Advisor will have the deciding vote.
